Congratualtions On Your Wins!!

Kassie's Big Give
I was very surprised and honored when Ms. Cristina named me as one of the ones to receive $100 to try to turn into more money to give to a charity of my choice. I chose the program at Childrens Medical Center where they use the money to buy red wagons to pull the sick kids around in the hospital and the kitty rescue home where I got my kitty from 2 years ago. With the $100, my momma ordered chocolate candy bars and we sold them to double the money. I also sold little toys, candy, and snacks at DDA and got more money that way. I sent half the money to the red wagon program and the other half to the kitty rescue house for them to buy food and litter. I passed on the Big Give to Bayleigh Cope at DDA because she is a loving and caring friend and I know she will do good work. Thank you Ms. Cristina for giving me the opportunity and even though I passed along my Big Give to Bayleigh, I am still working to get more money for my favorite charitys.

Camdyn's Big Give
Camdyn was blessed to be the Pageantry Gives Back recipient from Brooke Hudgins at Dixieland Dolls and Darlings this past Labor Day in Nashville. Camdyn has chosen St Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis as her Pageantry Gives Back Charity. As many of you know Camdyns baby brother has cancer and is being treated at St Jude. Every time a child goes to the clinic they get to go to the treasure chest and pick a small toy, many of the children go to several clinics in a day for treatment or procedures and get to choose a toy at every clinic so they go through a lot of toys in a day. Camdyn held a raffle at Diamonds and Pearls for two Mini Dachshunds ( Diamond and Pearl) and thanks to all the generous families she raised $ 850.00 to help fill the treasure chests. Congratulations to Isabel Raese and Ally Marie P. the winners of the drawing and to Ashley Durbin for receiving Isabel's puppy . Camdyn had a great time shopping for the toys and will be taking them to St Jude over spring break. Camdyn chose to pass the pageantry gives back big give to Darcie Golden, Brylee Quanstraum and Savannah Gribbons at Noty/Soty in January. Thank you Miss Cristina for starting this amazing program. I was honored to be able to participate, and the joy I felt being able to buy all those toys for the kids was an amazing feeling and I can't wait to see the looks on there faces when they get the toys. What a great life's lesson I have learned about giving.
Thank you Miss Cristina
Love Camdyn

Anna's Big Give
Thank you Ms Cristina for allowing me to be a part of the first Big Give. I was so excited to be called as a recipient. I was also in awe to be on stage with the other beautiful girls. Once my feet came back down to earth I starting thinking of ways I wanted to use the $100.00. My mom encouraged me to follow my heart and do something that I was very passionate about. Last year I had a very close friend who was killed by his father. I started noticing that there were stories in the news every day about a child bring hurt at the hands of adults. I then realized that I wanted to help children who were abused. My mom got in touch with the Community Partners of Dallas. This organization help fight child abuse in the Dallas area. They have Rainbow Rooms where children can go and get clothes, toys and food when they are placed in CPS. Thank you Mr. Stuart and Mrs Shannon for allowing me to collect donations for the Rainbow Room during the Diamonds and Pearls Pageant. I also received donations from several stores in the area. I was so excited to take the donated formula, coats, pampers and toys to the Rainbow Room. Thank you to everyone who donated. I knew that it was too late to help my friend, but the Big Give gave me an opportunity to help so many others. Child abuse does not only hurt the child, it hurts everyone. I did this in remembrance of my friend, Jonathan Potts.

Isabel's Big Give My Big Give….When Brook Hudgins presented me with that very special $100 bill at Dixieland, I was not quite sure what to do with it. There are many volunteer programs, but there are two of them that are very special to me. The first one is called “Easter Basket” program. Each year, literally hundreds of children go without ever getting an Easter Basket. The program started off small, only 25 baskets, but now every year my brother Adam and I, put together over 250 baskets for needy children in and around West Virginia. The baskets includes lots of goodies, candies, and bunnies, but they also include needed things like tooth brushes, tooth paste, hair brushes, socks, shampoo, conditioner, pencils, erasers, etc. We love doing these baskets and had invited our local high school to use this program as one of their community service projects. The program has grown so much that we coordinate it through our local United Way and its agencies, to locate needy families and volunteers. Now that our local high school has gotten involved in the planning, shopping and assembling of these baskets, I have added $50 of the $100 to their budget. The second program is called Warm Hands-Warm Hearts. So many children are in need of these simple items during the very cold months here in West Virginia. Every year, we solicit just about everybody to give us their old, new, or used hats, scarves, gloves and mittens for those that are in need. This winter I spent $50 of the $100 to buy new hats, scarves, gloves and mittens (on sale of course) to add to the already growing pile of items donated by our community. You would be amazed at how big that pile gets. These programs are special for a really big reason – anybody, anywhere can do it. But mostly, any kid can join and volunteer in these programs. You do not have to have a leader, meetings, fund raisers, etc. You just have to see a need, try to fill it, and be a part of the BIG GIVE. These programs can be adopted by anyone, anywhere, if any of our pageant girls would like to start one in your area, I will help you in starting one in your school, community, or pageants.
Love Isabel
